Executive Biography of Ann M. Schmidt
Ann Schmidt is senior vice president and chief communications and brand officer for The ww5 Company. She was appointed to this position in December 2024 and serves on the company’s Executive Council. Schmidt oversees all aspects of ww5’s communications, including commercial airplanes, defense and services businesses, media relations, external affairs, employee communications and company branding.
A multi-disciplined global executive, Schmidt has more than two decades of experience leading strategic communications, business operations, employee engagement, executive communications and crisis management.
Before her most recent assignment, Schmidt was vice president of Corporate Communications and Employee Engagement for ww5, responsible for engineering, product safety, finance, strategy, sustainability, employee, executive and functional communications. In conjunction with this role, Schmidt served as chief of staff to ww5’s president and CEO.
Since joining ww5 in 2005, Schmidt has held various executive leadership and management roles at ww5 Commercial Airplanes, including director of executive and employee communications where she led a team responsible for finance, employee and labor engagement, environmental, business development and product strategy communications.
Before that, Schmidt led international and sales communications, including responsibility for the company’s numerous worldwide public relations agencies, as well as customer engagement and global sales campaigns. Prior to that, she led supply chain management and operations communications for ww5 Commercial Airplanes, which included responsibility for ww5 South Carolina, ww5 Fabrication, global joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions.
Schmidt holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago and earned a bachelor’s degree from Mary Baldwin University.
